Valentine's Day, which is soon approaching, is not exactly a Jewish holiday. However, the Jewish calendar does have its own Valentine's Day called Tu Be'av. The word "Tu Be'av" means the date which this holiday falls on in the Jewish calendar, which is the fifteenth day of the Jewish month "Av". On this day in history, the Jewish citizen went out to the fields to find their marriage partner. It is a joyous and festive day, and it does not coincide with the non-Jewish Valentine's Day at all. Both days do recount love but that might be all that they have in common.
So what are some nice gifts to give for your loved one, whether you celebrate the February fourteenth day of Valentine's Day, or the Jewish "Tu Be'av"? Here are some ideas of what to get that extra someone.

Women love chocolate. You can get your wife some nice chocolates like Godiva or See's. Truffles are a good choice. Also, anyone that has a filling in it, like caramel, milk chocolate, or coffee are favorite choices. If chocolate is not her thing, or she's trying to watch her weight, you have other options.
If you have a diminutive bit more money, you may want to get her a nice piece of jewelry. Women, and some men, like jewelry. You can get your husband a nice watch, or your wife a gorgeous new pair of pearl or diamond earrings. You don't have to spend a fortune if you shop at Kohl's, Marshalls, or Ross.
One more idea to get your principal other would be some music that they like. If they like Classical, Jazz, or World Music, you may want to get them a Cd in the genre that they like, so they can play it whether at home or on their drive to work.
To conclude, even though the February fourteenth Valentine's Day is coming up soon, you can no ifs ands or buts get your principal other something extra any day of the year. For all of the Jewish citizen out there, you may want to wait until "Tu Be'av" to celebrate a day of love with the one you love.
